What a triple grip is
A metal connector that ties a truss down onto the top plate, fixed through a defined pattern of holes with nails specified by the manufacturer.
Why skew nails are not enough
Skew nailing resists a truss lifting only through the withdrawal strength of a few nails driven at an angle. The grip converts that into a designed connection at every truss.
What we look for
That the grip is there, that it is the right one, and that every specified hole has a nail in it. A grip half fixed performs at something less than half, because the load is shared unevenly.
